You don’t have to let go just yet
WithHalo: Combat Evolved’simpendingloss of online functionality via GameSpyon the horizon, players were about to have to say goodbye to online multiplayer and matchmaking. Again. But third-party programGameRangerhas swooped in to save the day, makingHalo: Combat Evolvedas well as the demo andHalo: Custom Editionavailable for play on the Australian-based company’s servers.
GameRanger was founded in 1999 and has since snapped up several other games for inclusion via the service, such asCrysisandCrysis 2as well asNeed for Speed: Most Wantedin 2011. It’s great to know these older games can still live on, preserved by services like GameRanger — losing support for older titles is never fun, and this is great news for players still crashing Warthogs and whatnot in the originalHalo.
