Nintendo will be going hard on this sequel

Given the rapid release of theSplatoon 3andPokemon ScarletandVioletOLEDmodels, thisZelda: Breath of the Wild 2OLED mockup(via vragal on Reddit) sounds super probable as something Nintendo might release in 2023.

Billed as a faux “special edition,” the box even has the detail of “not including the game,” but does sport a fan-made whiteZeldaOLED Switch dock (presumably with the LAN cable functionality), as well as two special Joy-Con themed around the series with a gold and green color scheme. Remember, there is a realZeldaJoy-Con set, viatheSkyward Swordre-release.

Switch mockups are among my favorite things to gander at, mostly because so many of them could actually become reality. With how experimental Nintendo is, any given first-party franchise could see some sort of special edition release, all the way up to a hardware revision. Sadly, since we’re out of the age of the 3DS, we’re not going to gettoo many of thosecrazy projects.

Remember when the 3DS was alive and well, and Nintendo came out with some sort of new model multiple times a year? Fun times. That practice dates back all the way to the original Game Boy, but I miss having a dedicated handheld in the mix all the same.
