Hidden inside one ofGreenlight’s smaller updateswas the intriguingPapers Please, developed by Lucas Pope, which you can now pre-purchase on Steam. You take on the role of an Immigration Officer in the border town of Grestin in the fictional country of Arstoztka. It’s your job to check the official documents of people entering from the neighboring country Kolechia, with whom Arstotztka has been at war with for six years.

As migrants come to the desk, the player has to check the status of their documents against an official rulebook. Despite the hostilities between the two countries ceasing, criminals, terrorists and spies will try and get entrance to Arstotztka; so will refugees, the desperate, and the poor.
