Pikachu and pals push past Warcraft
As reported byYahoo NewsandGamesIndustry.biz,Pokémon: Detective Pikachuis now the highest-grossing video game movie of all-time, with the Warner Bros. release having received its final burst of activity in a few smaller markets, where the movie is still being shown theatrically.
The CGI/live-action comedy reached a global total of U.S. $436 million last weekend. This figure just pushesDetective Pikachupast the $433 million box office made by 2016’s fantasy adventureWarcraft, which was made for Blizzard Entertainment by Legendary Pictures.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachustars Justice Smith as a young man attempting to track down his missing father, who teams up with our deductive fuzzy friend (voiced by Ryan Reynolds), who is sleuthing his way through Ryme City.Critics and fans were generally very positive, with the consensus being that although the film doesn’t push the boundaries of your typical comic adventure narratively, it does feature good humour, delightful characters, and high-quality CGI work.
