Plants vs. Zombieson PC is a thing of beauty, as is the lovely iPhone port of the lawn defense game. Either people already knew to expect good things from the adaptation having played the original, a ton of iPhone owners dig PopCap, orPvZwas a word-of-mouth success.

The more I think about it, the more I’m sure it’s all three. PopCap is reporting 300,000 units sold in the game’s first nine days and upwards of $1 million in sales to date. As far as the App Store is concerned, that’s an impressive launch.
