EA showed off a very early prototype Criterion’sNeed For Speed: Hot Pursuitwas one of my favorite games of the last console generation, so the news that the team is working on a brand new IP that goes beyond racing is really exciting. At EA’s press conference, very early alpha footage was shown of the still unnamed title that showed players using all kinds of vehicles from speedboats to helicopters in what looks to be a huge open-world, racing playground....

Those musically inclined players hoping that the instrument is a part of some elaborate puzzle or gameplay mechanic are in luck, as the organ is the key to most secrets within Kell’s Fall. Thankfully, players don’t need to do all the work required to piece together each melody, as any will work if you know which order the notes go in....

It would not be aDestiny 2event without some sort of controversy, unfortunately, and this weekend had its fair share. The latest endgame activity inDestiny 2, the new raid called The Desert Perpetual, kicked off itsworld-first race on Saturday afternoon. The first team to conquer it (Team Nuts) did so about 16 hours later, which isn’t even the first or second-longest raid in the franchise’s history, but players are all pretty universal in their gripes that the raid’s four bosses all have impossibly high health pools to deal with....

Having just put the final touches on itsacquisition of Codemasters, EA has now purchased mobile game maker Glu Mobile Inc. in a deal worth an astounding $2.1 billion – one of the priciest acquisitions in the industry’s history. Hammy, but surprisingly decent Star Ocean: The Last Hopehad a truly dreadful script, but the cringe-worthy voice acting probably didn’t do the game any favors, either. Thankfully, it sounds likeStar Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessnesswill be a little better in that department, at least if its first English trailer is any indication. The voice over still has an overly theatrical quality about it, but I suppose that comes with the territory. Hopefully this one doesn’t have any terrifying children hell-bent on taking“nappy time”with you....
