Third times the charm? Adventure Timeis so inherently well suited to videogames that it almost works against it. Every fan of the series already knows what they want in anAdventure Timegame. Sadly, none of the game adaptations of the series have had the budget or development time necessary to meet those lofty expectations. The nextAdventure Timegame for consoles looks like as earnest an attempt as any to do better than the games that came before it....

What a great look Microsoft is making a push in the next generation for indie games that bring unique voices and ideas into the industry. During the Xbox Games Showcase, we got a look at one of those games from developer Interior/Night. It’s calledAs Dusk Falls, and it tells a story of two families across 30 years in the American Southwest. I am absolutely digging that style and can’t wait to see what secrets this story holds....

Yesterday, it saw its biggest patch leading up to its early March release window. With it comes the content I got to test out last week. To go along with the murder, there is now a persistent progression system (which will be reset at launch) and character customization, so everyone can fear the beard, or know of your reckoning by the brand on your bright pink shield....

TRION World’sDefianceis a rather bold idea, pairing a television show with a massively multiplayer online game on the promise of players being able to impact the whole of the story through their actions. The game’s E3 trailer, seen above, demonstrates this by combining footage from the upcoming Syfy Channel program with that of the game. I love that this is a thing, that the interactivity of videogames can inform the direction of a completely different type of storytelling....

Last night saw Nintendo hold a brief live stream for their popular mobile titleFire Emblem Heroes,revealing a brand new mode for the Free-to-Play iOS and Android equivalent ofBarcode Battler. An all-new mode, Aether Raids, will be going live in-game tonight. Players will be able to build a small range of structures – or “Aether Keeps” – and set defenders to garrison them....
