After launchingStarfieldwithout DLSS support, Bethesda Game Studiosconfirmed in a news post on Steamthat the revolutionary technology will be added to the RPG soon. Currently, players have had to usea popular DLSS3 modthat was released the same dayStarfieldlaunched. Additionally, the post outlined plans to work closely with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on driver support. An Nvidia driverreleased yesterdayimproved performance on new RTX GPUs.
The news post also highlighted the improvements in update 1.7.29 that hitStarfieldtoday. The roughly 2.5GB update improved performance and stability and reduced crashes while increasing framerates. A few progression-blocking quest bugs were also fixed as well as part of the update.

A few other big features coming as well
In the post, Bethesda also highlighted other features that will be coming soon. Brightness and Contrast controls as well as an FOV slider are also on the way toStarfield. It’s a bit odd these aren’t in already, but it’s good to see they are coming. Especially with how dark certain environments—such as caves—can already be. Also, an HDR Calibration Menu and support for 32:9 Ultrawide Monitors are in the pipeline.
A big quality-of-life feature is in the works as well: an Eat button for food. This was present in previous Bethesda titles, but as for now is missing fromStarfield. At the moment, you have to pick up food, then go into your inventory and find it to eat it. Once the feature is in, you will be able to directly eat food in the world rather than having to add it to your inventory first.

Finally, the built-in mod support system, also known as Creations, will be added to all platforms. Full support for the feature is aiming to launch early next year. For now, only PC has mod support, but that will change once Creations is implemented. The system already exists inSkyrimandFallout 4and is popular for both titles.
Some of these features should have been inStarfieldfrom the start, but it’s good they are being added quickly. Hopefully, official DLSS support will fix a lot ofperformance issuessome players are currently experiencing.
