Nintendo Direct September 2023

As usual, there were some rumors swirling about a September Nintendo Direct leading up to this announcement. But it’s nice to see that the usual pre-Fall show has been locked in. We’ve usually seen a show around this time, coinciding withTokyo Game Show, which is running September 21 through 24 this year.

Let the speculation begin

So, at this point, there’s little else to do but speculate. Though Nintendo’s specifying a winter window, I’m sure some fans are hoping to see some massive new announcements, especially after thereports out of Gamescom.

The upcoming fall slate is a little interesting for the Switch.Pokémon ScarletandVioletjust got its first batch of DLC inThe Teal Masklast night, withThe Indigo Diskstill on the way. A 2D Mario game is on the way withWonder, alongside a remake of a classic inSuper Mario RPG. Plus, there are some potential hits lurking around, likeFashion Dreamerand a newWarioWare.

Wuyang OW2 ultimate

I’m personally hoping for a slew of surprising indie games. While this year’s had some huge blockbusters, I’d dig something small and intriguing I could pick away at on my Switch. It’s been sitting on the sidelines sinceTears of the Kingdomfor me, and could use an out-now surprise to encourage me to return.

We’ll find out what Nintendo’s winter has in store for us in tomorrow’s Direct at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT.
