2K Sports’ next baseball game,MLB 2K12, launches on July 13, 2025, for 360, PS3, Wii, PC, PS2, PSP, and DS. It will be the only simulation baseball title available on the Xbox 360, whereMLB 2K12alone will retail for $59.99. But for an extra $10, Xbox 360 players can pick up the 2K Sports Combo Pack, which comes withMLB 2K12as well as a copy ofNBA 2K12.

You’ve got to hand it to 2K Sports’ marketing team. Since Take-Two bought the exclusive third-party MLB rights in 2005, itsMLB 2Kfranchise has produced titles ranging in quality from poor to good — but never great. Pinning the next entry in that series to the coattails of the publisher’s critically acclaimed, top-selling basketball game is a smart move that will surely provide an artificial bump inMLB 2K12′s sales numbers.

Of course, the Combo Pack is also a great value for sports fans, sinceNBA 2K12, which launched in October, currently retails for $49.99. (Then again, Xbox 360-owning baseball fans with no interest in basketball may feel cheated, since they’ll be paying $59.99 for a game with an effective price in the Combo Pack of $20.)

Either way, keep an eye out for my fullMLB 2K12preview, which will be up later today, and gaze at the full box art for the Combo Pack below.
