Whether you’re looking for a bit of a challenge inFinal Fantasy XIVor wanting to get your hands on some free maps in preparation for the newDawntrailTreasure Dungeon, Cenote Jaja Gural, coming in 7.05, you’re going to need some maps.

If you want, you can purchase these on the Marketboard for relatively cheap at the moment, but the price of these maps is likely to skyrocket once the new Treasure Dungeon drops. While you can only have one map on your person at any time, you can store them on your Retainers or in your Chocobo Saddlebag, so you can stock up if you know how.

Gathering maps yourself is a good way to build a collection, but this does come with some caveats. Here’s what you need to remember:

How to gather level 100 Timeworn Maps in Final Fantasy XIV

Timeworn Loboskin Maps are designed to be completed solo. Even when Cenote Jaja Gural releases on July 30, these maps will never spawn a portal. They are, however, a good way to get rare materials.

Timeworn Br’aaxskin Maps are designed for a full party of eight to complete, although they can be completed by as few as two players if you’ve got a good hold on your rotations and damage output. Although these maps currently don’t open a portal, they will have a chance to do so once Cenote Jaja Gural releases on July 30.
