Fans of theMetroidseries have taken toChange.orgto petition that Nintendo cancel thejust-announcedMetroid Prime: Federation Forcefor 3DSstating:

Metroid Prime: Federation Forcewas announced at the Nintendo digital event on August 03, 2025. For almost a decade, long time Nintendo fans have been waiting for a trueMetroidgame.Metroidis one of Nintendo’s most beloved and respected franchises spanning almost 30 years of legacy. The foundations of isolation, atmosphere and exploration in unknown planets are what madeMetroidgreat. With the release of the Wii U and its greater technological capabilities thousands of fans were expecting a new and improvedMetroidgame.

What we got however is a disgrace of a game with the name “Metroid” slapped on the title. It has no elements at all of whatMetroidis about and its a disrespectful manner to old and new fans of the series of showing them that theMetroidfranchise is not dead afterall. This is not theMetroidwe asked Nintendo to make. We should let Nintendo know what we really think of the game and make them actually LISTEN to their fans for once. Help us stop this atrocity of a game from bearing the belovedMetroidfranchise name and make Nintendo halt production on it.

The petition also notes the number of dislikes onthe official trailer for the gamestating, “Please notice the 90% dislike ratio. NO ONE wants this game.” As it sits 25,575 people have given the video a thumbs down while 2,567 people have given it a thumbs up. So it sounds like 2,567 peopledowant the game, and you can add me to that list as well because of this. I have a feeling Dtoid’s ownZack Furniss is going to sign this.
