Destiny 2’snew era begins in 2025 with the Year of Prophecy, which begins the Fate Saga of the franchise after the Light and Darkness Saga ended withThe Final Shapeexpansion.
As part of Year of Prophecy, two main expansions will launch, calledThe Edge of FateandRenegades. With the first one just around the corner, we know a bit about what to expect, including a new destination called Kepler, a new raid shortly after launch, and an all-new story that pushes the world’s lore in new directions.

Basically,Destiny 2isn’t going anywhere any time soon, especially with two more expansions confirmed for 2026, calledShattered CycleandThe Alchemist.While the Light and Darkness Saga has ended, it seems as though the world of theDestinyfranchise may just be getting started.
For now, though, here’s what we know about when you can get your hands onD2’snext big DLCs.

Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy release dates
There are several key dates to keep in mind when it comes toDestiny 2in 2025, with even more dates to be revealed. But here are some big ones for you to mark on your calendar for this year.
Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate countdown
The newest expansion forDestiny 2, The Edge of Fate,is due to launch onJuly 15, 2025. Server downtime for the new expansion will begin around 7:45am CT, and after a few hours, the game and DLC will be accessible once again starting at around 12pm CT on that day.
Here’s a countdown that ends exactly on July 15 at 12pm CT:

The Edge of Fateseems to deal with time travel, including relics of the past and a mysterious new character named Lodai. Guardians must head to the edge of the Sol system to find Kepler, the new location, and unravel the mysteries within.
The new expansion will add new story missions, new locations to visit, new missions, new weapons and gear, a new Fallen enemy that can fly, a new raid launching on July 29, and more. Launch day is just the beginning for the expansion, with alarge-scale update namedAsh & Irondue to come out on Sept. 2, boasting new and reprised activities, new sandbox meta, new events, new modifiers and challenges, and new gear and artifact mods.

But that’s not the last DLC coming forDestiny 2in 2025. Oh no, we’re just getting started, and up next we will go to a galaxy far, far away.
Destiny 2: Renegades countdown
Thesecond expansion forDestiny 2in 2025 is called Renegades, and it draws heavy inspiration fromStar Wars. Characters can be seen holdingStar Wars-like blasters and lightsabers, but the story will be true toDestiny’slore and world, and is an official partnership between Bungie and Lucasfilm Games.
Destiny 2: Renegadesis scheduled to launch onDec. 2, 2025at around 12pm CT. Here’s a countdown until then:

Renegadeswill include a new dungeon, new story, new missions, new weapons, gear, and a bunch more when it drops to close out 2025, and another new year ofDestiny 2can begin again when the DLC’smajor updateShadow & Orderarrives on July 27, 2025.
