Most of the four different series of novels were written towards the beginning of Hoover’s writing career, and the books contained within these series should be read in order. There is, however, no real order in which you should read each series.

Slammed series

TheSlammedseries was the first published work by Hoover, and it was self-published by the author herself. There are heavy themes involved, including death and huge life changes, and the series focuses on 18-year-old Layken, who moves to a new town after her family dies.

TheHopelessseries centers around discovering who you are while also having to confront the issues of your past. It’s a love story between Sky and Dean, who each have their fair share of issues to bring to the table, and their efforts to overcome them.

Less of a series and more of a duo, theIt Ends With Usseries is the one that has garnered Hoover the most attention, with the first of the two books already having been turned into a silver-screen blockbuster of the same name.

The series is a story of love and concerning behaviors, childhood trauma, and generational abuse. It all gets a bit dark at times, but there is definitely something captivating about the honest, raw stories that unfold.
