ThoughCivilization 7will only release on Tuesday, those with early access say it’s great, though it lacks many simple but essential quality-of-life elements present in the series’ previous entries. These mostly amount to inexplicable features and UI omissions thatFiraxis has already stated plans to fixbased on player feedback.
That’s cool, but, asnoted by Polygon, a lone soul has beaten them to it.
Sukritact has been playingCivilization 7since the beginning of early access and has just launchedSimple UI Adjustments, a mod that aims to fix some of the more pressing matters. In short, the mod adds basic information tooltips for when players hover over tiles, with smaller icons for undeveloped tiles. You can also access diplomacy options by clicking on the city banners of other civilizations.
SinceCivilization 7isn’t officially out yet, you can’t comfortably download the mod via the Steam Workshop yet. You can, however,head here, download the mod, and put it in your mods folder, which should be here: username\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier’s Civilization VII\Mods.
The adjustments might strike people who don’t know the series as minor changes, but they carry a lot of weight when it comes to the enjoyment of the game, as they save players the trouble of digging for information in other menus.
Though certain features ofCivilization 7will be sure to disappoint some fans by launch, chances are the continued efforts of Firaxis and the mod community will have them fixed in no time.
