TheWitcheris branching out into other projects, too

Today, CD Projekt revealed its long-term game production plans. A big chunk of that includes several newWitchertitles, with the start of a new trilogy and other stories in store.

Thepreviously teased next entryinThe Witcherlooks to beProject Polaris, a story-driven open-world RPG built on the “legacy” ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt confirms that it’s in pre-production, with CD Projekt Red developing it.

Polaris will act as the starting point for a newWitchertrilogy. And all three games in the trilogy are aiming to be delivered within a six-year period, following the launch of Polaris.

This isn’t the only newWitcherstory in production, though. Back in 2021, CD ProjektacquiredThe Flame in the Flooddeveloper The Molasses Flood. The team is now working on Project Sirius, an “innovative” take onThe Witcheruniverse for new and old fans. Sirius is in pre-production as well, with support from CD Projekt Red.

On top of that, there is also another game in the works. Project Canis Majoris is in development at a third-party studio led by formerWitcherveterans. It’s planned to be a story-driven, single-player open-world RPG set inThe Witcheruniverse. Basically, there’s a lot ofWitchercoming down the pipeline from CD Projekt.

Something ends, something begins

Alongside all theseWitcherprojects, CD Projekt also confirms that it’sworking on a sequeltoCyberpunk 2077.There’s also the previously announcedPhantom Libertyexpansion, which is in thefinal phase of production.

And there’s even more. A new IP, separate fromThe WitcherandCyberpunk, is in the works asProject Hadar. This is being developed 100% internally and is currently in the conceptual phase.

That is alotof projects in development at CD Projekt right now. The studio did seereports of on its working conditionsemerge around the launch ofCyberpunk, which CD Projektlater saidit was committed to improving on.

But if you’re eager for moreCyberpunkandWitchergames, CD Projekt is working to deliver on both.
