As its title plainly explains,Brutal Voxel Doomis the unholy combination of two extremely important classicDoommods:Brutal DoomandVoxel Doom, wherein the tech backing of the latter is mixed with the gory violence of the former. We’re still uncertain whetherBrutal Voxel Doommanages to outpaceDoom Eternalin the sheer violence factor of the experience, but we do know that it sure as heck is trying. Impressively so, in fact.

As per Davison,Brutal Voxel Doomis way more than just a gory take onVoxel Doom, as it comes with a suite of AI improvements and some interesting new content, to boot:
This list is, mind, non-exhaustive as per Davison’s comments. Gun-toting enemies will now, for example, take cover and reload their weapons, and Imps will leap at the Doom Slayer to deal extra damage if possible. The addition of bonus creatures fromQuake, of all things, is bound to spice things up further still, and the action is bound to feel extra crunchy and badass thanks to the presence ofBrutal Doomgameplay improvements as well.
An impressive package, then. Although we don’t think this advanced version ofDoomwill run on asmart toothbrushor anaudio spectrogram, it sure does look like great fun. Especially if you’re eager for something new and interesting, but appreciably familiar in all the ways that matter.
