There’s obviously a lot of anticipation forElden Ring‘s big DLC expansion,Shadow of the Erdtree, with itscheduled to launch on Thursday, June 20(or Friday, June 21 depending on your timezone). However, as is apparently typical with any major game release nowadays, footage from the DLC has somehow found its way online, including gameplay of the final boss fight.
I will obviously not be sharing links to the leaks nor will I describe any of their contents, but the source appears to be a single individual who uploaded clips via Reddit over the weekend. It’s unclear how they were able to access the DLC before launch but, regardless, it’s best you avoid anyElden Ringrelated subreddits for the time being. Maybe take measures to preventShadow of the Erdtreespoilers posts popping up on your Twitter and/or YouTube feeds too.

Bandai Namco might be aware of the leaks as well since, earlier this morning, it sharedthis messageon the officialElden RingTwitter account: “With the release of the expansion ofElden Ring,Shadow of the Erdtree, please be mindful of spoilers for those who want to tread into the Realm of Shadow with nothing but their determination and their minds unclouded.” Some fans in the replies have also advised caution to anyone who wasn’t aware about the leaks and, thankfully, nobody seems to have shared any of the spoilers either.

It can be frustrating having to curate your social media or avoid it altogether to avoid spoilers like this, but it’s unfortunately become a common, almost mandatory practice given how often leaks like this happen. Not even Nintendo is immune to this, withfootage of last year’sThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomleaking onlineahead of its launch. Sometimes, such leaks can result in legal action, like what happened with the person wholeaked a bunch of info onGrand Theft Auto 6. Although, in that instance, it was because they had hacked and stolen the info from Rockstar Games.
