The news arrived yesterday during the Japanese broadcast of the Nintendo Direct. Atelier Marie remake

Here’s thetrailerfrom yesterday’s Direct:

The originalAtelier Mariewas the first in the now long-runningAtelierseries. First released in 1997 for the PlayStation, then later ported to Sega Saturn and Windows, it is the origin of the series. It follows Marie’s quest to create something outstanding, to stand out in her class.

Back to the origin

With theAtelierseries seeming to pick up steam in the west with each new entry, it’s neat to see Koei Tecmo return to its roots. WhileAtelierMariehas seen many ports over the years, this starting slice of the series hasn’t seen an official North American release yet.

For fans of the workshop-driven RPG series, this could be a good chance to see how it all started, but with a fresh update and look that adheres closer to recent entries likeRyzaandSophie.
