Mortal Kombat X tops all software
According toApril’s NPD numbers, the Xbox One proved it has some legs as it claimed the top spot for the month’s console sales by knocking the PlayStation 4down a notch. While Sony may be leading the console race overall and worldwide, the Xbox One needs a month like this to continue to stay relevant and build its basebrick by brick.
Here is what Microsoft’s marketing had to say via Mike Nichols, corporate vice president of Xbox Marketing:
Xbox One console sales in the U.S. increased 63 percent in April 2015 compared to April 2014 and Xbox Live comparisons showed the number of active global users (Xbox One and Xbox 360) grew 24 percent.
As for the software side of things, NPD reported thatMortal Kombat Xled all game sales for April. Below is a breakdown of the month’s top ten (note thatBloodbornewas bouncedandDark Souls IIsnuck itself in):
