Ironhide & Skywarp join the War for Cybertron

Activision has unveiled two new characters for the highly promisingTransformers: War for Cybertron. Grizzled war veteran Ironhide represents the Autobots, while the Decepticons get a surprisingly obscure character in Skywarp. Ironhide is billed as slow and old, but incredibly durable. True to his G1 roots, he’s a loyal Autobot and one of Prime’s most trusted advisors. Skywarp will be similarly faithful to his original role, that of a stealth attacker who suffers from subnormal intelligence....

MassDebate: Sequelitis – RESULTS

Welcome to the results of MassDebate! The latest entrystirred up somewhat of a metadebate: The debators’ discourse threw up some controversy; the inclusion of screenshots from Final Fantasy XII twice in my header montage caused some confusion (a genuine error on my part); and finally we had the detractors, arguing that “sequelitis” was a word that I stole from another site, and suggesting that arguing over a ‘trivial’ topic “cheapens the site” (because until this blog came along, Destructoid was Serious Business, like Bloomberg but with videogames)....

Microsoft Flight appears on Steam with a DLC bundle

I wouldn’t have necessarily expected a game likeMicrosoft Flightto show up on Steam, but such an arrival does put the free-to-play flight sim in front of a bunch of new gamers, so you can’t really argue with those results. There’s also a new premium add-on plane, the Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero. If you’re among the people waiting for some form of a discount on the paid downloadable content, a bundle on Steam might be of interest....

Pitting Crysis 3 against the GeForce GTX Titan

Crytek’s latest does battle with Nvidia’s ‘Gaming Super Computer’ Today, hardware reviewers were able to lift the lid on NVIDIA’s latest beast, the GeForce GTX Titan. Boasting aGK110 chip with2688 CUDA cores and loads of other stuff I barely understand, NVIDIA claims that when you rock three of these things in SLI, you get the world’s first gaming super computer. So far, so prideful. With a trio of these behemoths, my job was simple....

Rainbow 6: Siege and other Tom Clancy games on sale on PSN

Discount spy My brother readThe Hunt for Red Octoberin grade four, Lord knows why the school library had a copy. He spent the next few weeks after reading it becoming extra, creepily knowledgeable about nuclear weapons and the lasting impact of Cold War doctrine. I remember, distinctly, the night he explained the concept of M.A.D (that’s mutually assured destruction) in our small, yellow-lit kitchen. How it prevented nuclear war by promising to end every single human life on earth should one ever occur....

Shadow of Mordor looks good but is it Lord of the Rings?

No hobbits here, sir Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordorhas gotten a lot of people excited because of its seemingly great combat and interesting reputation system but is it me, or does it just look like a generic dark fantasy game? I’ll be honest, my Middle-earth knowledge is lacking but there’s nothing very “Lord of the Rings”-y about this trailer. Still proof is in the pudding as they say and if Shadow of Mordoris a fun game, then I’ll be giving it a go, Hobbits or not, on October 3....
