The newly revamped co-op mode of Battlefield 3

Fans ofBattlefield: Bad Company 2clamored for a cooperative mode for months after the game released, and when it finally came in the form of “Onslaught Mode,” many were disappointed at its lackluster AI and generally tacked-on design. Wait. That’s it? Mafia: The Old Country gets brief teaser

The “one last thing” atGamescom Opening Night Livewas a reveal for a new game in theMafiaseries:Mafia: The Old Country. Unfortunately, itdidn’t tell us muchaside from the fact that the game is going set in the early 1900s in Sicily. It’s going to give a look at the birth of the Mafia, so I suppose it could be considered a prequel to the entire series. Aside from that, there was no gameplay shown....

Let’s be frank — it looks likeSpace Marine. I am okay with this. More than okay, actually, since we never did get a sequel to that game and its mechanics deserved one....

I’ve yet to catch up on the series ahead of this release, but I hope all three games are buddy cop style with the round-nosed sweetheart with the cool voice (“gooseberries”!) at your side at every turn. It would make up for thelack of ice skating....
